Excuse me, but the last time I noticed, AMERICA is LAST in ALL INDUSTRIALIZED NATIONS in neonatal and maternal MORTALITY rates because we DON'T have MIDWIVES at our BIRTHS!

PEOPLE! WE ARE THE ONLY INDUSTRIALIZED NATION IN THE WORLD THAT DOES NOT HAVE A MIDWIFERY MODEL OF CARE!

Out of the 1% of American women that have our birth in the SAFEST, MOST CONDUSIVE environment in the WORLD (our home) less than 5% have complications that would require hospitalization. With a qualified midwife, almost ALL homebirths are less risky than the medical counterpart.

These folks are trying to make it CRIMINAL to not pay them thousands of dollars to have YOUR birth in a place that is likely to make YOU and your NEWBORN SICK without respecting your or your birthing plan! THE GALL!

There is a group for NC residents who are friendly towards the midwife model of care and who are currently trying to introduce a bill to legalize CNMs to attend homebirths.
